My Story, Our Passion
It all started back in the early 80’s. My dad used to set up his Lionel trains around our Christmas tree each year. Only thing was, he didn’t just set them up around the tree, he took over our entire living room! He used to lay down white bed sheets and stuff them with old newspapers to create a winter wonderland of mountains and tunnels for the trains to navigate. He always had at least three trains running at once, a New York Central F-3 ABA freight train and a 2-8-4 Lionel steam engine were interwoven over a series of 8 different switches seamlessly travelling over trestles and through tunnels. Above all of this was a Great Northern diesel on a fully elevated track that seemed to manage to steer clear of the chaos below.
